Nitric Oxide + Vascular Health

Several years later, in 1998, three scientists were given a Nobel Prize for their discovery that nitric oxide is a key molecule in the cardiovascular system that helps keep blood vessels healthy and regulates blood pressure.

Within the human body, nitric oxide acts as a versatile mediator, facilitating communication between cells. Its influence extends across a spectrum of processes, including inflammation, vasodilation, and neurotransmission. Yet, it is the role it plays in preserving the health of our blood vessels that stands out. Nitric oxide assumes a central position in vasodilation, a process crucial for maintaining optimal blood flow and regulating blood pressure throughout the cardiovascular network.

Acemannan contributes to the increase in nitric oxide through various mechanisms, ultimately promoting cardiovascular health.

Here’s how acemannan steps into the spotlight to support the production of nitric oxide:

Acemannan is a polydisperse beta-(1,4)-linked acetylated mannan with antiviral properties. As an immunomodulator, studies have shown that acemannan causes the activation of macrophages. Results suggest that Acemannan causes the activation of macrophages by increasing the level of nitric oxide synthase at the transcription level.
