How I get back into shape and lose weight with ease
I’ve struggled with my weight my ENTIRE life. Constantly dieting, constantly failing, constantly unhappy with my body, constantly wondering if there was ever going to be a solution for me. It took my mom getting stage 4 cancer for me to realize I didn’t have a “weight loss” problem. I had a body that was not functioning properly problem. I found out how to help my body function properly – and what do you know…. my body has dropped almost 40 pounds in 7 months EASILY. This is not medical advice. This is my story of how I’ve finally been able to sustain weight loss and have a healthy, functioning body.
3 KEY THINGS I DO

It begins with food
I started eating 80% real food and enjoyed processed foods 20% of the time. I’m not depriving myself, just leaning towards eating MORE real food.
We all know eating “good” is what we should do. But I didn’t know why. I did not know until my mom went to a holistic cancer center and they taught us exactly how food helps our bodies function and that real food lowers our risk of all disease and cancer. Ultra processed food causes disease.
Fruits, vegetables, meats, broths, oils like olive & coconut – food that is REAL and not made in a factory has the key vitamins & nutrients that help our bodies function, balances our hormones, help to stabilize mental health, have sustained energy, reduce chronic inflammation, maintain a healthy weight and so much more. Ultra processed food not only lacks vitamins and minerals but is filled with oils, and chemicals that are so toxic to our bodies and cause chronic inflammation, damage the gut lining and cause the body to store unwanted fat.
Here’s some places to start if you need guidance on what to eat:

Movement
I walk 30 minutes a day 5x a week.
Our bodies need to move! Not moving causes less blood flow and less metabolism. Long term, that leads to diabetes, heart attacks, stroke, obesity and other diseases. Do we want to live long, beautiful lives? We need to get off the couch 🙂
Movement helps prevent and manage many chronic conditions and diseases. Start by walking. Just 30 minutes every day can increase cardiovascular fitness, strengthen bones, reduce excess body fat, and boost muscle power and endurance. I don’t have time to go to the gym (mom of two small kids!) but I do have time to walk everyday for 30 min! This is the only exercise I’ve done for 7 months and I have lost 40 pounds and feel AMAZING.

I STOP eating at 5:30pm
Eating late at night can promote weight gain because your body is less insulin sensitive and more likely to store energy as fat instead of using it. It can also disrupt sleep and hormones, which increases hunger and cravings the next day.
I have done this for one month, and easily lost 4 pounds. It is a little hard at first but I really love how I feel in the mornings now!!!

This is not a quick fix. True health takes time, and I’m not even where I want to be! But I’m on my way 🙂 I’ve not only lost 40 pounds, but I’m starting to have a functioning, healthy body. This has been EASY because I’m not restricting myself. I’m leaning towards real food, walking and taking supplements to help my body heal. I will still enjoy a cupcake from time to time when I want one!
